Marina Pacowski

Marina Pacowski is one of the most sought-after pianists for double bass players throughout the world. For around 20 years, she taught piano accompaniment at the Regional Music School in Bayonne (France), and was the summer school pianist in Capbreton until 2014.

Catalin Rotaru, the American virtuoso double bass player, chose her to record a CD and DVD of Frank Proto's music in 2014, on the Red Mark label. She was awarded the « Best Collaborative Music » prize by the International Society of Bassists in 2017.

Several pieces have been dedicated to her, notably the piano concerto "Black Sun" by Peio Cabalette (2015), "Four Portraits for Marina P." for two double basses and piano (Bernard Salles, 2013) and a concerto for piano by Frank Proto which will be premiered at the Meadowlark Festival in 2018, and recorded in Cincinnati in 2019, under the baton of the composer.

Marina Pacowski is also a musical director for singers. She won the Hanz Gabor Belvedere International Competition (Vienna, Austria) in the “Coaching singers” category, just a few months after being chosen as the Singers' repetitieur for the Young Voices of the Rhine during their 2000/2001 season (as part of the National Opera of the Rhine’s program). As a repititeur, she has been invited to the Royal Opera of Wallony in Belguim, the National Opera of the Rhine in France, the Coliseu of Porto in Portugal and the Oper Schenkenberg in Switzerland. She has collaborated with conductors such as Dejan Savic, Friedrich Pleyer, Marc Tardue, Stéphane Cardon and Guy Condette.

Alongside the piano, Marina's passion is jazz singing, and she is currently developing a career in this field in the USA.
