Jean-Baptiste Salles

Orchestre de Pau Pays de Béarn

Jean-Baptiste began playing the double bass with his father, Bernard Salles, at the Pau Conservatory, where he won a first prize. He took classes during the Capbreton summer schools with double bass players such as Thomas Martin, Wolfgang Guttler and Giuseppe Ettorre.

A qualified double bass teacher, he holds posts at the conservatories of Pau, Orthez and Montardon (France).

He is a double bass player with the Orchestre de Pau Pays de Béarn.

Alongside his career as a classical bass player, Jean-Baptiste also plays the electric bass and composes music for various different groups, with whom he performs live all around the South of France. He has recorded several CDs.
